Doctor of Philosophy in Advanced Educational Studies - Curriculum and Instruction (Online)

Liberty’s 100% online Ph.D. in Advanced Educational Studies – Curriculum and Instruction is designed to provide Ed.D. graduates an accelerated pathway to complete a Ph.D. dissertation track. This program allows students to transfer in up to two-thirds of the degree total in order to complete just 21 credit hours of specialized research and dissertation writing content based on a topic in their existing experience and expertise in curriculum and instruction. Or, students may instead choose to gain a new area of expertise by pursuing an area of study outside of their previous Ed.D. focus with the Curriculum and Instruction track while still transferring in core content from their Ed.D coursework. The Curriculum and Instruction specialization gives students in-depth exposure to advanced research and scholarship in teaching practice methods, assessment techniques, and curriculum design. This degree is an excellent choice for students who have an Ed.D., but find that they require a Ph.D. dissertation to further their careers. Graduates of the Ph.D. in Advanced Educational Studies – Curriculum and Instruction can be well-prepared for roles as curriculum specialists, educational consultants, higher education instructors, education executive administrators, K-12 administrators, education research specialists, or training and development specialists.
